Dos Pueblos’ girls softball team had a rough outing on Tuesday at Rio Mesa, allowing the Spartans a six-run fifth inning that led to an 8-0 non-league defeat.
Dos Pueblos, which played without four starters, committed six errors – three alone in the sixth – that led to four Rio Mesa runs.
The Chargers’ lone hit came off the bat of starting pitcher Hannah Harris in the third inning.
“It was a great learning experience against a quality team,” said Chargers coach Don Roberts.
The Chargers can test what they learned on Saturday, when they play the Spartans again in the Susan Manlet Tournament.
