Red-hot Vaqueros win fifth in six tries

After building a 4-2 singles lead on Tuesday at Pershing Park, SBCC needed just one singles victory and came away with a sweep to secure a 7-2 WSC men’s tennis triumph over Glendale.

The Vaqueros (5-4, 4-0) won for the fifth time in six outings and remained perfect in WSC play.

Nikolay Ivanov, Cameron DeAragon, Kyle Lewis and Zack Scott secured the singles points. Scott and Zazove got the winning point with an 8-4 triumph at No. 2 doubles.

“It was a battle that could have gone either way,” said SBCC coach Ryan Heinberg.

The Vaqueros travel to Bakersfield on Thursday.
