Rangers bust with Royals on 19

Feeling like a caged animal during a shutout at Buena on Tuesday, San Marcos roamed free on the basepaths Friday, taking home a 19-2 non-league victory at Nordhoff.

Riley Moore had the biggest day of several for the Royals. The switchhitter was 5-for-5, getting multiple hits from both sides of the plate.  Moore added knocked in six runs while recording three doubles.

San Marcos scored 10 runs on eight hits in the top of the third inning to blow the game open. The Royals sent 16 hitters to the plate before the Rangers could end the inning. Lino Reveles hit a two-run home run in the inning.

Nick Villegas had another standout day for San Marcos, collecting three extra base hits while going 4-5. Villegas also posted four RBIs.

Nick Stathopoulos, Jimmy Brakka and Payton Moore combined on the hill to get the win for San Marcos, which travels to Arizona next week for a spring break trip in which the Royals play five games starting Wednesday.
