Rams say why run when you can walk

Cate’s baseball team defeated Camp Kilpatrick 18-6 on Friday, improving to 2-0 on the season.

The Rams used a nine-run fifth inning to take control against Kilpatrick, which didn’t help itself by walking 13 Cate batters.

Jackson Mauze was credited with the win for the Rams and the junior was 2-2 at the plate with four RBIs. Three other Rams had multi-hit games, including George Luo, Michael Warren and Robert Fairbanks.  Luo also scored three runs and knocked in two runners.

Cate hosts Pacific Christian next Wednesday, a team the Rams defeated last season in the postseason on their way to the CIF Division VII final.
