Austin Lokre and Cate’s boys tennis team locked down a victory in their Condor League opener on Wednesday, taking a 15-3 decision over Laguna Blanca at the Municipal Courts.
Lokre, a sophomore, swept his three sets as the Rams’ No. 1 singles player. Two of the wins came against players he hadn’t beaten during his Cate career.

Mark Mullan and Adam Turner were the only other Rams to play a full three sets, doing it together as a 3-0 doubles team.
Laguna’s Troy Ritter and Alex Greer won a set each in singles while the doubles team of Eddie Conk and Alex Louden captured the other Owls set.
“Despite our best efforts they’re just on another level,” said Laguna Blanca head coach Trevor Thornton. “I thought we put forth a pretty good effort but they are just a little too much.”
Cate won for the second time in two days, improving to 2-3 overall, 1-0 Condor League. Laguna Blanca is 3-3, 0-1.
