Cate’s girls lacrosse team opened up its season at Saturday’s Rose Bowl Jamboree, going 1-2 on the often-times rainy day.
The Rams defeated Mira Costa 10-3 in their final game after having fallen to Tesoro 9-3 and Redondo Union 8-6.
Senior captain Stephanie Ruys de Perez led Cate in points with seven goals and three assists. Annie Weis and Alexis Hill were also forces on the offensive end for Cate as Weis recorded four goals, two assists and Hill, a freshman, had five goals and an assist.
Goalkeeper Alexx Temena recorded 22 saves in the three games while Sarah Appleton, Angela Lee and Isabel Tejeda led the defense.
