Chuy Lopez wrapped up a stellar career with the Dos Pueblos wrestling team by going 1-2 at the CIF State Championships in Bakersfield on Friday.
“He had an excellent year, and it couldn’t have happened to a better kid,” said coach Anthony Califano. “He’s always been a hard worker and a team leader. He represents everything we want to represent at DP, and it’s great for our program for him to get this far.”
Lopez is already planing to give back to the program as an assistant coach, beginning with the frosh/soph team at its state competition next week.
