Jun Huh and Anthony Pell matched each other for Tuesday’s low round as Bishop Diego’s boys golf team defeated Fillmore 410-490 at Elkins Ranch golf course, a 6034-yard, par-72 course.
Scott Grimes was right behind with an 80 and Garrett Garcia followed with an 81. Hayden Slaught’s 91 rounded out the Cardinals’ scorecard in their season opener.
“We are very pleased with the consistency of our scores from our players one through five,” said Cardinals head coach Martin Herrera, who expects his team to be competetive in the Frontier League this season.
Bishop Diego competes closer to home on Monday when the Cardinals play at Montecito Country Club against Carpinteria.
