Dos Pueblos suffered its third straight loss to start the Channel League season on Friday, falling at Buena 4-3.
The Chargers scored twice in the top of the fourth only to give three right back in the bottom half of the inning. The big blow was a two-run home run to right field by Buena’s starting pitcher Drew Jacobs.
Chargers head coach Nate Mendoza thought his starting pitcher, Joe Huthsing, pitched well enough to win, striking out seven while giving up only four hits.
Cory Micheel had two hits, including an RBI single in the first inning. Johnny Corazza and Josh Paden recorded RBI doubles in DP’s two-run fourth.
Dos Pueblos faces non-league foe El Segundo in its next contest next Thursday.
