Charlie Taylor and Tim Illgen went 2-1 in doubles play but Villanova overpowered Bishop Diego on Tuesday in a Frontier League tennis match. The Wildcats won 11-7.
Cardinals (2-2) coach Ray “Slash” Vazquez said that he expects the two teams to battle it out for the league title this year. Last season, the Cardinals won the crown for the first time in three decades.
“The nice thing about our league is that we play each team three times. We’re gonna change our lineup next time and see if we can win one or two more in singles,” he said.
