Bishop Diego’s boys volleyball team locked down its first Tri-Valley League victory on Tuesday, sweeping Nordhoff 25-14, 25-11, 25-17.
Johnny Brand’s 11 kills was tops for the Cardinals, followed by Spencer Shull’s eight. Each added three blocks on the night. Chris Helkey’s eight aces were a big boost from the service line.
“We did a good job keeping our intensity level up playing against a scrappy opponent,” said Bishop Diego head coach Joe Reiken.
The Cardinals (1-4, 1-2) host Oaks Christian on Thursday, looking to even their league record at 2-2.
“We’re treating Oaks as our Carp game,” Reiken said.
