Westmont College won 13 of 15 sets on Thursday at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in a 9-0 men’s tennis victory over SBCC.
Nikolay Ivanove, the Vaqueros’ No. 1 player, and No. 6 Cameron Deargon each won a set against the four-year school that competes in the NAIA. Ivanove fell 5-7, 6-4 (10-4) to Carlos Lima while Deargon lost 6-3, 2-6 (10-4) to Aaron Cooke. A 10-point tiebreaker was used instead of a third set.
The Vaqueros (0-3) return to action on Thursday with a 2 p.m. home match against San Diego Mesa.
