A lack of focus doomed the Carpinteria boys soccer team on Wednesday as the Warriors fell to host Oaks Christian 2-0.
“I don’t know what it is about the boys. I think they’re worried about other things right now. But what can you do? They’re in high school,” said coach Daniel Torres.
He said that his team didn’t get any shots on goal until the final 25 minutes, when the Warriors (13-5-2, 6-4-1) finally snapped out of it and had five shots. Thursday’s game at Malibu will be a big one with regards to Caprinteria’s CIF placing. They could end up as high as second in the Tri-Valley League or as low as fourth.
