Carpinteria just couldn’t match up with Oaks Christian on Wednesday, but Manny Rodriguez did.
The Warrior star scored 32 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, but no other Carpinteria player scored more than two in an 81-41 boys basketball loss down at the Lions’ den.
“He was the best player on the court,” said Carpinteria coach John Ward, who said his players have continued to play hard. “We just couldn’t match up with them. They were much bigger and very athletic.”
Oaks Christian ties for the Tri-Valley League title at 17-8, 9-1, while the Warriors hope to petition for an at-large playoff berth at 11-13, 1-9.
