Laguna Blanca’s girls basketball team hit a whopping eight 3-pointers on Friday to hand visiting rival Cate a 50-30 loss at Merovick Gym.
Amanda Schulenberg scored 18 points, Zoe Serbin had 11 and Lauren McAlister scored 10 for the Owls. Grace Dickman scored 19 to lead Cate. The Owls out-rebounded the Rams 41-25 in the game, winning the second half 29-13.
“It was a tough game by both sides,” said Cate assistant coach Jim Masker. “It was pretty close at halftime but the came out in the second half and just shut our offense down.”
