Laguna Blanca pulled a 180 degree turn on Monday, forgetting Saturday’s 4-1 loss and recording one of its own in a 4-1 non-league victory over Viewpoint.
“It was a huge win for us,” said Owls head coach Gregg Luna. “The girls just came together today. Every year there’s a turning point and I think this was it.”
Viewpoint is the No. 8 team in Div. VI, a division higher than the Owls.
Becca Braly scored first for Laguna Blanca, beating two defenders before taking the shot.
Lauren McAlister scored twice in the second half and drew a penalty kick, which Erin Stone converted.
“Everyone played so well today,” said Luna, who commented how today felt similar to a game late in the season last year when his team really turned it on before playoffs. “It was just beautiful to see us play.
“A year ago about this time, we really started clicking.”
Laguna, 9-4-2, plays against Dunn on Wednesday and on Friday hosting Cate.
