Daniel Koches collected 19 points and six rebounds Saturday night, leading SBCC to an 80-62 men’s basketball triumph at Oxnard. Koches, a 6-5 sophomore, was 7-for-7 from the field with five 3-pointers.
Lucky Teeguarden had 11 points and David Lane added 10 points and seven rebounds as the Vaqueros (7-17, 3-7) won their second straight WSC North game.
SBCC fell behind 19-8 at the outset before taking a 42-36 halftime lead. They opened the second half on a 24-11 run, boosting the lead to 19 points, 66-47.
“We shot 50 percent and really defended well,” said coach Morris Hodges. “Nate (Graham) really gave us a spark off the bench in the first half.”
Graham, Edgar Pineda and Chris Vines scored eight apiece.
The Vaqueros travel to Hancock on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game.
