Oak Park has Carpinteria’s number this season and it came up again on Wednesday.
The Eagles, winless in the Tri-Valley League except for against the Warriors, posted a 1-0 victory to win both games with Carpinteria this season.
“It’s pretty disappointing, especially after losing to them earlier in the season,” said Warriors head coach Daniel Torres, adding that it was also Carpinteria’s first league loss on the road in two years.
“We missed too many good opportunities in front of the goal,” explained Torres.
Oak Park gained its advantage in the 18th minute and was able to keep a lid on their goal the rest of the way.
Carpinteria’s record falls to 5-3 in league while Oak Park improves to 2-6.
The Warriors are looking to get back into the win column on Friday when they host Malibu.
