Laguna Blanca’s hopes for a Condor League title were dashed in a 2-0 boys soccer loss to Dunn on Wednesday. The Owls, who play at Cate on Friday, still have hopes for a CIF berth.
Dunn scored in the 25th minute of the first half and the 15th minute of the second. Coach Kevin Shertzer said that his team looked a bit “tentative and scared” in the first half, but came out strong after a motivational talk at halftime.
Sebastian Koch nearly put away a free kick from midfield, but the Earwigs keeper made a nice back-pedaling save.
“Dunn was certainly the deserved winner of this contest,” said Shertzer.
