Dons crushed by Cougars on the road

Daniel Marshall had 17 points and nailed three 3-pointers but the Santa Barbara boys basketball team went scoreless in the first quarter and fell to host Ventura 60-29 on Friday night.

The Dons were missing Andrew Adams, who had another obligation, and Aldo Martinez was injured, which hurt their post presence significantly. Dylan Houck did most of the damage for Ventura, hitting five treys and scoring 27 points.

Santa Barbara (1-23, 0-7 Channel League) plays at Buena on Thursday in the final game of the season. Assistant coach John Slavin said that the Dons match up well with the Bulldogs and that it is a winnable game.
