Lucky Teeguarden tossed in 19 points Saturday night but it wasn’t enough for the SBCC men’s basketball squad, which dropped an 86-73 WSC North decision at Ventura.
Willie Reese added 14 points while Daniel Koches and David Lane had 11 apiece for the Vaqueros (4-13, 0-3). Ventura, which led 38-36 at intermission, is 5-12 and 2-2.
“We got hurt on the offensive boards and shot 19-of-31 from the free-throw line,” said coach Morris Hodges. “We were down three with about seven minutes to go and there was a questionable blocking foul called. They built the lead to seven or eight shortly after that.”
Santa Barbara has two home games next week against Oxnard (Wednesday) and Hancock (Saturday).
