Essence Thronhill had the best game of her career on Thursday, racking up 16 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals as the Bishop Diego girls basketball team demolished Santa Paula 60-30 in a Cardinals vs. Cardinals matchup.
Bishop (11-7, 1-1 Frontier) had its best half of the season, taking an authoritative 37-9 advantage into the break.
“It was by far the best half we’ve had all year. The defense just got after it with steals and we converted them into lay-ups,” said coach Jeff Burich. “It was really fun to watch.”
Kelsey Stimson had eight points and 10 steals while Janelle Kohler had yet another double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
The Cardinals play at Grace Brethren on Tuesday.
