Laguna Blanca’s girls soccer team, ranked No. 10 in Division VII, fell to visiting Pasadena Poly on Saturday 4-1.
“They were a very good team from a much bigger school,” said coach Gregg Luna.
The Owls went into halftime tied 1-1, and had the lead after Lauren McAlister scored off of an assist from Becca Braly in the ninth minute. Poly, however, netted the equalizer before haltime and scored the remaining three goals in the final 20 minutes of the match.
Luna said that his team “ran out of gas,” and also noted that after a couple weeks of inactivity due to the rain, his team unfortunately suffered some injuries. The extent of the injuries is not known, but he’s hopeful that the team will be at full-strength once league play starts up again on Wednesday against Dunn.
First, the Owls (8-4-1) will play at Viewpoint on Monday.
