Laguna Blanca started off strong in Saturday’s boys soccer match against visiting Pasadena Poly but lost its rhythm late in the first half en route to a 3-0 loss.
Poly had two attempts early on and converted on one of them to take a 1-0 lead 20 minutes in. An injury to Parker Lilly threw the Owls out of rhythm for the remainder of the half.
Coach Kevin Shertzer felt his team didn’t deserve to win the game after an uninspired second half.
“We didn’t pass well, defend well or give much effort… They exploited that well and put in two goals,” he said.
It was Laguna’s third game in as many days, and Shertzer hopes that the lethargy doesn’t carry over into the home stretch of the season.
“Hopefully, we can use this as our yin and in the upcoming league games this week, find our yang,” he said.
