Amanda Burch scored 13 points and Caitlin Wallace added 12, but Carpinteria’s girls basketball team couldn’t keep up with No. 2 Santa Clara on Thursday in a 49-31 loss.
Sierra Freeman had her best game of the year according to coach Dan Mercer, scoring six points to go along with four rebounds.
“It was a real nice job and a good team effort. I feel good about how we competed, and I think we’re gonna get our first league win next week,” said Mercer..
