Carpinteria’s boys soccer team stumbled in a 2-0 Tri-Valley League loss to Oak Park on Friday at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium, handing the Eagles their first league win.
“We just got out-played, out-worked, out-hustled,” said Warriors coach Daniel Torres, whose team is still 9-2-1 on the season overall and 2-1 in league.
Still, Torres now thinks the Warriors will have to win out in order to claim a league title, which was a team goal at the beginning of the season.
Bryce Arenson scored both goals for Oak Park, slipping behind the defense to score in the 30th and 71st minutes.
“It wasn’t our worst game, things just weren’t clicking,” explained Torres, who is hoping the Warriors will bounce back when they face Malibu on Wednesday in their next league game.
