There wasn’t any shortage of offense for Carpinteria’s girls soccer team on Wednesday, with the Warriors counting off seven scores in a 7-0 Tri-Valley League win at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium.
Joselyn Gamez led the charge with three goals and Nikki Graham added two more.
Yadira Saldana collected her first goal of the season on a score similar to Cindy Torres’.
“There was no way the keeper was going to stop those,” said Warriors head coach Lucy Carleton, as both goals were crisp shots into the top corner of the net.
Carleton also noted the quality minutes from Jaquelene Perez and Marlene Vargas.
Carpinteria improves to 1-1 in league and stands at 5-2 overall.
Keeper Tania Arroyo recorded the shutout for the Warriors, who play at Oak Park on Friday.
