Carpinteria falls to Oak Park on the road

Manny Rodriguez chipped in his typical 22 points and 19 rebounds, but Jovan Saenz and Daniel Babineaux were the only other players to get in the scoring column on Friday as the Carpinteria boys basketball team fell to host Oak Park 42-26.

Babineaux pulled down eight rebounds, while Trevor Madden held Oak Park’s leading scorer to six points. Madden held Malibu’s leading scorer to four points in Carpinteria’s previous game, and played the entire game at point guard as the Warriors (10-6, 1-2 TVL) lost star floor general Kevin Lusterio to injury earlier in the week.

The Warriors’ next game is at St. Bonaventure on Wednesday. Oak Park is now 12-7, 3-0.
