Bishop Diego’s boys basketball team won its second-straight Frontier League game on Friday night, defeating Grace Brethren 67-54.
“Our core group built leads in the first and third quarters,” said Cardinals head coach Ray Vazquez, happy to be able to play everyone off his bench.
Paul Garcia led Bishop with 15 points and five assists.
“He’s starting to play with more control and confidence,” Vazquez said.
Hayden Slaught collected a bunch of stats, including seven points, eight assists, six steals and five rebounds. Elias Munoz posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while Noah Tack just missed one with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Nolan Tisdale took advantage of the extra minutes to score his first varsity points and Vazquez also noted the increased role for Alex Ramirez, who’s taking on a starting spot.
