Maddy Brooks scored a pair of goals as the Carpinteria girls water polo team broke a 1-1 halftime tie by scoring four goals in the third quarter, beating visiting Villanova 6-3 on Friday.
“I finally got my girls to start shooting from the perimeter. They were kind of crashing down on us, but we changed directions at halftime and just started throwing in shots,” said coach Bryan Swarm.
He added that Annik Marcel had an excellent game defensively to go along with her goal. The Warriors (5-4, 4-2 TVL) are in second place in league and host Nordhoff on Wednesday.
