Sometimes the outcome doesn’t necessarily reflect how the game was played.
Such was the case on Wednesday for the San Marcos girls soccer team, which suffered a 2-0 setback to San Luis Obispo.
“It was a game I think we deserved a point from,” said Royals head coach Lloyd Biggs, thinking his team played a solid game despite the final score. “We competed very well.”
Biggs said the Royals dominated play for the opening 25 minutes before the Tigers were able to slip behind the defense to score, changing the tide of the game.
“We were going forward at the time and got caught out of shape,” explained Biggs.
San Luis Obispo’s second goal came in the second half.
San Marcos falls to 1-4 on the season and will travel to this weekend’s Buena Tournament.
