Kelsey Stimson scored a season-high 18 points on Wednesday as Bishop Diego’s girls basketball team opened the Bishop Diego/Laguna Blanca Tournament with 1 51-33 win over North County Christian.
“She’s really starting to develop into an all-around player,” said coach Jeff Burich.
Allison Breuer scored 12 points with 10 rebounds while Janelle Kohler score dnine points with 16 rebounds in the post.
“We went up 13-2 after the first quarter and I think we kind of coasted the rest of the way. We let up a little bit. I think we need to take more advantage of shots around the basket,” said Burich.
Due to a scheduling conflict, it was the first ever game played in the school’s new practice gym.
The Cardinals (3-2) are back in the good ol’ Brickhouse tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. to take on Thacher.
