Camarillo’s girls basketball squeezed the life out of San Marcos in the first quarter on Tuesday, riding the resulting 20-point lead all the way to a 49-39 victory at the Thousand Oaks Tournament.
The Scorpions ripped the Royals 24-4 in the first eight minutes and never looked back.
Kimmy Sanchez was San Marcos’ top point-getter with 14. Hannah Ball threw in eight points and Desiree Porter-Ray seven.
San Marcos continues tournament play on Wednesday.
