San Marcos was two-for-two on Friday, defeating Lakewood’s St. Joseph before nixing Santa Monica at the Villa Park Tournament.
The Royals beat St. Joseph 12-0 and Santa Monica 13-3.
Jade Fitzgerald led San Marcos with six goals in the two wins while Flo Chardon added five and Rose Koper four. Freshman Hannah Koper also recorded five goals, with four coming in the second game.
“We talked about getting out front and she really set the stage for us,” Royals head coach Brian Roth said of Hannah Koper, who scored the first two goals against Santa Monica.
Roth was happy for Ashley Wagner after the first-year player scored her first career goal in the St. Joseph game.
Mallory Zaunius recorded eight saves to get the shutout in the first game.
