There’s been a lot of turkey eaten since the last time the San Marcos girls water polo team played.
In their first game since a scrimmage before Thanksgiving, the Royals struggled to find a rhythm against Fountain Valley, falling 13-8 in the first game of the Villa Park Tournament.
“I think we can play them much better than that. We just have some things we need to work on right now,” said coach Brian Roth.
Brittny Hummel scored a pair of goals and was a bright spot, according to Roth.
“I was really encouraged by the way she played. She had two really legit goals,” he said.
San Marcos (0-1) plays St. Joseph’s of Lakewood tomorrow afternoon.
