Ali Raack found the back of the net in San Marcos’ season opener on Tuesday, but Oak Park didn’t back down in a 2-1 non-conference decision in favor of the Eagles.
Jenny Ann Martinez fed Raack for an assist on the Royals’ goal. San Marcos managed to outshoot Oak Park and controlled possession for much of the match, yet didn’t get the result it was looking for.
“The girls played well and we’re looking forward to getting out there for our next one,” said San Marcos head coach Lloyd Biggs, whose team hosts Pacifica on Thursday in its home opener.
