Ryan Richardson scored two goals and dished out an assist before halftime Wednesday, finishing with a hat trick as the Laguna Blanca boys soccer team picked up an easy 5-0 win over Villanova Prep.
The Owls (1-0) went up 4-0 at halftime. Luke Judson assisted Richardson on a breakaway goal 10 minutes into the contest, and Richardson added another goal five minutes later on a free kick. He assisted Chris Bremner on the Owls’ third goal before Judson created space and dished out an assist to Sean Burke on the fourth.
Troy Ritter played a ball through five Wildcat defenders in the second half and found Richardson alone in front of the net to end that day’s scoring.
“I was obviously very happy to have a win in our season opener and was very happy with the way we played. We were calm on the ball and finished our chances,” said coach Kevin Shertzer.
