FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Senior Anne Marie May and sophomore Tim Freeman completed action at the 2009 AT&T Short Course National Championships at the Weyerhauser King Country Aquatic Center on Saturday evening. May competed in the 100 free on Saturday while Freeman took-on the 200 breaststroke.
In the 100 free, May stayed true to her seed into Saturday’s final by placing sixth. She posted a time of 49.21, shaving .25 seconds off of her morning preliminary swim time.
Freeman finished the 200 breaststroke in 2:00.27, taking 13th place in the event’s bonus final. Earlier in the day, he posted a mark of 2:01.54 in the prelims.
Recent UCSB grads and current grad assistants with the Gaucho swim program, Jeff Sudbury and Katy Freeman were also in competition on Saturday. Freeman, like her brother, swam in the 200 breast. The 2009 All-American in the event posted a time of 2:10.87 in the final, tying for ninth place (her time was the seventh fastest of the evening).
In the men’s 100 free, Sudbury took 41st in the morning’s prelims with a time of 45.50.
All four swimmers will remain in Federal Way on Sunday for the 2009 Long Course Invitational.
