St. Bonaventure scored at the 30-minute mark and then again near the end of the match to defeat Laguna Blanca’s boys soccer team 2-0 on Friday.
Ryan Richardson had an opportunity early in the game but missed just wide. The Seraphs sneaked their first goal past Laguna goalie Pascal Karam before the halftime whistle and the Owls looked “a little deflated” in the second half, according to coach Kevin Shertzer.
“They dropped back and defended our midfield play and cleared the ball to a very talented forward,” said the coach. “He managed to make things happen out of very little and they were able to capitalize on one of these attacks late in the game.”
Since it is not a Condor League game, Shertzer said his team, now 1-1, can turn the loss into something positive.
“Nobody likes to lose, but it showed us some key elements of our game that are missing at the moment,” he said.
