After being shutout for the first time on Saturday in a loss to Bishop Diego, Cate’s boys soccer team made up for lost time on Wednesday in a 9-2 rout of visiting Kilpatrick.
Harry Gruner started out with the Rams’ first two goals, both coming off of assists from sophomore Avery Schwartz. Ema Boateng scored a goal himself but was more busy distributing the ball, collecting four assists.
Junior Casey Barr, Jackson Mauze and Jason Park scored goals for the first time this season and senior captain Johnny Woolf was in on the action with another goal. Senior Byoungwook Jang recorded two assists for the Rams, who don’t play again until their Condor League opener on Jan. 6 at Midland.
Cate holds a record of 4-1-0.
