R.J. Rosborough tallied 12 points for Santa Barbara High, but the Dons’ boys basketball team let it slip away in the fourth quarter and took a 44-35 loss to Santa Maria at the Arroyo Grande Tournament on Friday.
The Saints led 31-29 heading into the fourth quarter before winning the final period 13-6.
“We were pretty close throughout the whole game, but our offense just got kind of stagnant and we rushed some things,” said coach Chris Hantgin, whose team is still looking for its first win.
Clifford Anderson had eight points for the Dons.
“This is a little disappointing. This is a team that we thought we should beat,” said Hantgin. “We’re going to have to find a way to score more points.”
