Dons demolish Cougars on the road, 17-1

Nine out of Santa Barbara High’s 10 girls water polo field players scored on Thursday as the Dons recorded a 17-1 blowout at Ventura.

“They were left a couple of players short of their starting group, so it was a lucky day for us,” said coach Mark Walsh.

He highlighted the play of Haley Burns, who started the game for Santa Barbara and dished out a team-high three assists to go along with a goal. Chloe Brooks had eight saves over three quarters of work in the cage.

Camille Wissman, Makenzy Fowler and Kelsey O’Brien each tallied hat tricks for the Dons, who host Rosary next Friday.
