Dons add Hoover-Purtur to Griffin attack

Santa Barbara’s Silvia Hoover-Purtur almost usurped Rebecca Griffin as the Dons’ leading scorer on Tuesday, as the sophomore guard tallied a season-high 12 points in a 75-38 victory over Lompoc at the Righetti Tournament.

Hoover-Purtur added four assists to her point total and her coach Andrew Butcher commended her defense as well.

Anissa Figueroa was also in the coach’s good graces, collecting five assists and four steals.

Griffin recorded a game-high 14 points to lead Santa Barbara (10-3), which took a 42-14 lead into halftime. By the end, all ten Dons found the scoring column.

Santa Barbara takes on El Camino on Friday and play a second game against Righetti.
