Dodson does it in this one for Royals

It was JP Dodson’s night for San Marcos on Thursday. The senior scored a season-high 15 points and made all seven of his free-throw attempts in a 56-43 victory over Nipomo at the Coast Union Tournament.

Johnny Manzo also had a season-high for San Marcos, collecting ten points. Manzo added four rebounds and three assists. San Marcos head coach Jarrod Bradley said both did a good job of pushing the ball and getting the Royals easy baskets in transition.

Christian Mkpado just missed another double double with eight points and 11 rebounds. San Marcos improves its overall record to 4-2 by extending its lead after every quarter.

Tournament play continues on Friday for the Royals with a 3 p.m. matchup against Taft.
