Saugus’ last-second half-court bank shot may have involved some luck on Thursday, but Dos Pueblos boys basketball coach Joe Zamora said it was his team’s fault for allowing it.
“We had some key turnovers down the stretch and let them make a run. We put ourselves in a position to lose the game,” he said of his team’s 65-64 loss at the Simi Valley Tournament.
Jawhar Purdy scored 21 points for the Centurions, while Matt McClenathen had 17 for the Chargers (1-2). Pablo Miranda added 10 points for DP.
