Sophomore Avery Schwartz and freshman Ema Boateng took the fortune of Cate’s boys soccer team into their own hands on Wednesday, showing their youthful exuberance in Cate’s 7-0 victory over Villanova.
Schwartz recorded a hat-trick plus one with four goals. Boateng scored twice himself and added three assists. Harry Gruner was the other Ram in the scoring column.
Ahmed Bou-Rabee and Grant Redmond split time in goal to post the shutout for Cate (3-0), which plays Bishop Diego on Saturday.
