Carpinteria takes value from loss to Vikings

All things considered, Dan Mercer and the Carpinteria girls basketball team will keep their chins up following a 59-33 defeat to Campbell Hall at the Village Christian Tournament on Tuesday.

The Vikings return five starters from a team that went 23-2 last year and reached the CIF Div. V-AA Final.

“I think we gained some confidence from this one,” Mercer said, citing the 32-29 score after a lopsided first quarter in favor of Campbell Hall.

The Warriors still have a game to play today, taking on Village Christian Academy starting at 7:30 p.m.
