The Bishop Diego and Laguna Blanca boys soccer teams battled to a 0-0 tie on a slippery field at the Cardinals’ nest on Monday.
Owls coach Kevin Shertzer said that the Cardinals controlled the first half and had a golden opportunity to score, but the ball went off the post and rolled across the entire goal line. The Cardinals also had a breakaway in the second half that was sent wide.
The Owls also had two clear opportunities after halftime.
“The best came in the last minute of the game when Sean Burke dribbled past the outside back and centered the ball. There was a tussle in the box, but they were able to clear,” he said.
Unfortunately, the Owls suffered four injuries in the game. They face Thacher in a Condor League matchup on Wednesday.
