Bishop Diego’s boys basketball roster has been fortified with the return of Kyle Holland and Sam Kwock, but adding two key players has brought along an adjustment period. The Cardinals fell to a strong Camarillo squad 69-50 at the Jim Bashore Holiday Cage Classic on Saturday.
“We’ve been doing well with the smaller rotation. They’re both excellent players, but it’s going to be a tough thing to get used to,” said coach Ray “Slash” Vazquez.
Holland had seven of his nine points in the fourth quarter, and Elias Muñoz led the way with 12 points. Bishop had beaten Camarillo in the preseason, but Vazquez said the Scorpions played much better this time around and applied effective defensive pressure.
