Back-to-back games to open the season left the Bishop Diego girls soccer team a little weary on Thursday, as the Cardinals dropped a 4-1 decision to Channel Islands in the Grace Brethren Tournament.
“I think 90-percent of this had to do with fitness and conditioning. Plus it was a 1:30 p.m. game which is a little bit different to adjust to,” said coach Brent Gonsalves.
Melissa Georgi scored Bishops’ lone goal in the second half. The Cardinals continue tournament play on Friday.
